pcAnywhere setup for cable to cable

By mmbarreca ·
I've had little luck in setting up pcAnywhere to go from one system with a cable modem to another. The process should be simple enough (choose the cable modem host/remote) but my guess is that I'm getting hit with the IP address. Aren't the IPs supposed to be those of the cable modems? If you have a router, do you need to use that one instead?

pcAnywhere setup for cable to cable

If you have a router with cable-modem then you are probably using NAT to map an outside IP to an internal IP.

You would have to manually map PC-Anywhere packets desinted for your public ip (and tcp/udp port) to point to your Pc-Anywhere client.
Here is some Pc-Anywhere port details that I found:

Hope it helps,
Jim
