COMPAQ LTE 5380-OS WIN98SE-
WHEN CARD MODEM IS INSERTED MACHINE SAYS-WINDOWS IS NOT ABLE TO IDENTIFY DEVICE BECAUSE THER IS NO MEMORY AREA AVAILABLE TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE DEVICE.YOU MUST MAKE A MEMORY AREA AVAILABLE BEFORE YOU CAN USE THE DEVICE.
THE PCM & INFRARED ARE USING THE SAME IRQ. IS THIS THE PROBLEM? CAN SOMEONE TELL ME HOW TO FIX THIS?

you can try the following and even if it dosent work it will make you one of the select few that even know tins is possible.
go to my computer and right click goto properties and device manager select computer object then click on properties, goto the reserve resources tab and reserve the resources that the pcmsia card wants to use this will force any other hardware that are useing the resources to cahnge after a reboot then remove the reserved resource and reboot again then try installing the pcmcia card
