Performance in network with windows 64 bit server and 32 bit worstations

By DandNet ·
Applications hosted on the server also take a long time to launch on 32-bit workstations. We had Server 2003 32-bit but when we upgraded to 2012 64-bit we started having these problems:

Long time taken to copy-paste files from workstations to server
Long time taken to run applications on 32-bit workstations, where files and .DLLs are on the server

Can anyone explain why it is so slow and how to speed this up please?

Check Network Card Settings

I had similar issues in the past on a particular job (after upgrading from Server 2003 32-bit to 2008 64-bit). In the end we found disabling chimney, large send offset and a couple of similar things on the network card did the trick. I can't remember the exact ones as it was too long ago - I think I found the advice in a Microsoft KB article though.

Thank you very much, I'm reading the article, I'm sure these problems are related with the network card like you said, thanks.
