please help uninstalling win2k

By integrity_comp ·
I have a dual-boot computer with win98 on my primary hard drive partition and win2k on one of my other partitions.

when I was fine-tuning my win2k pro partition I altered a couple of system files and while I can still boot into win2k it does not perform as well as I have had it running in the past.

Is there some way that I can simply uninstall win2k without having to reinstall my win98 partition?

If you have any ideas I would be very greatfull for all of your help.

thanks.

No Problem

If the two OSs are truly in separate partitions, all you have to do is format the W2K part. and re-install.

If not, wellll.. it gets complicated. It's possible but I don't have enough space here to walk you through it. Email me if you want the gory details. rdschaefer@consultant.com

Tried that before...

I tried that before but when I went to go back into my win98 OS to reinstall the win2k partition OS it told me that I already had win2k installed and would not let me reinstall the OS.

would it be better for me to try the reinstallation at the command line level?

OK, some questions first: When you boot the PC, do you still get the W2K boot menu? Was it, in fact, installed in a separate partition or alongside W98? Do you have the full W2K CD or an upgrade?

1. I get the w2k boot menu.
2. everything is on its own partition.
3. it is a full w2k cd.
