Poledit in Windows 95

By budi_novit ·
I use Poledit in Win 95 to ristrict Display Control Panel for my student and I make new user for myself and for Admin, and I use a profile in Netware. To monitoring them I use Windows NT 4.0
Now when I use workstation Win 95, I can't use control panel too.
What's going on.

Poledit in Windows 95

there are two ways to use POLEDIT.
LOCAL REGISTRY and TO NETWORK (LOGIN NAME)

I think you are using the LOCAL REGISTRY
so the restricions for any user will be the same.

Please try the other option, and copy the admin.pol file to the network
Good luck

Did You apply policies before logon first time?
If so, It?d be saves at default user registry (c:\windows\user.dat), and when you create a new user, it uses that file.
Then you?ve to use poledit (or regedit) to disable this security option.

Other way is add a user to the admin.pol with the correct policy. It uses the default user unless there is an especific policy for this user.

To end, sometimes I?ve detected that the registry is not actualiced when you logoff an logon as a differentuser. If you are loged in as a restricted user, then logoff and login as a non restricted user, it remains the restriction. You must do it twice or reboot the PC.

I hope this could help you.
