port forwarding

i got a router WAN ip 202.160.7.3, LAN ip 192.168.1.254.
I have set port forwarding 80 and 21 to my internal server ip 192.168.1.1 with web exchange and ftp. my internal workstation, on the web- 192.168.1.1/exchange...theres a pop out menu to login..and ftp://192.168.1.1, is running, but when i key in ftp://202.160.7.3 or 202.160.7.3/exchange, is not running, please help me....or is there any other configuration??

Are ports 80 and 21 actually open on your router? From inside your network it works properly, but not from outseide; this tells me that the issue is at the router. I did a quick nmap scan of the IP you mentioned (202.160.7.3) and found that the port80 was the only one listed as open. Also, your router isn't responding to Ping from the WAN side, which shouldn't cause a problem, but wackier things have been knows to freak out connection attempts. I tried to connect via HTTP to your IP and received no reply.

I think that you might want to check with the WAN settings on your router. That is what I bet is the problem.

Is you router WAN IP a private IP address? Many ISPs have a private network for managing their networks. You will need to have a public address available to the outside world. Your ISP will have provided either one or more static IP addresses or onedynamic address. These are how the outside can find you. Map one of these through to your private network. You may also consider using one of the dynamic dns services like TZO or dynip
