Powerpoint 97 dictionary problem

By Ravenhawk ·
Ever since a user imported a template from germany he gets the error message (Unable to find spelling file for german(germany) when performing a spell check. I have checked that english (US) is the default language but it still prompts. Any way of removing this message without finding a german dictionary?

I don't have '97 handy, but try opening the template and going to Tools>Language and selecting English.
You may have to select all the text and make sure that the language is set for English.
To test this, type a word, select it and chnge the language to something else and run the Spell checker. It will ask for the other dictionary.

Did you find text in the template that was set up to be spell checked in German?

I searched the template, the master slide and the files based on the template. All of it is defaulted to English (United States). Still prompting for spelling file for German(Germany).
