Powerpoint (lack of Images)

By nhughes79 ·
I have had a powerpoint presentation forwarded to me by email. It is a very large presentaion and when I evntually open it up the pictures on the slides are not viewable. Instead of the picture,a "big red cross" is displayed.

Could anyone help me? Why are they not appearing , and how can this be rectified?

Any help would be appreciated

Regards
Neil

Sounds like the presentation may well be corrupted. Does this only occur on various PCs (this will indicate a file problem rather than PC specific)

Most users do not understand the intricacies of putting large presentations together. Cut/Copy andPaste seem the preferred method, however this can cause problems. What in effect should happen is that the presentation if pictures, be formed by using the Insert>Picture>From File option from the Powerpoint toolbar.

Is it possible that your client can resend an uncorrupted version of the presentation?

Some of the "Big Red X" problems were fixed by Service Release 1. When you look at Help>About, does your system indicate SR-1 or SR-2? If not, conntact MS about getting the patch.
