Prevent other PC from getting auto assigned IP

Hi all,

Need some help here, currently at my office got internal network and all the PC has already set with static IP address,

my question is how to prevent other user without static Ip from getting internet connection?

what is happen now, outsider that bring notebook to our office can connect to the internet and get auto assign IP address. any setting inside router/switch that i can modify?

Without knowing what make/model of router/switch you've got, it's hard to tell you what it's capabilities are.

my router modem is ZTE 831 --> Netgear FR114P firewall --> Switch D-Link 3250TG --> User PC.. all user has been set up with IP Range from 10.3.12.x.

Need to know what you are using to manage internet access rights.

Generally you would want to have a specific range for your static. Anything ouside that range will be restricted.

there a no hardware/device to manage our internet access.

i think to start using windows server as Domain Controller and put all user under group and policy, is it a good idea? or got any setting i need to configure inside my device to prevent it other than IP range that i setup?

Mac address

Most routers have the ability to restrict access based on their MAC address, you can have a look if your router has that capability and then go through all machines adding them manually

already look inside my router setting, but dont have the capability to restrict by IP/MAC address, maybe i will try to access inside switch web setting, hope can find it.. :)
