Preventing NDR's with Exchange 5.5?

By Chris B. ·
When an email is delivered to the proper domain but the username does not exist, an NDR is generated and returned to the original sender of the email. Exchange can be configured to send a copy of any messages that generate an NDR to the Exchange Administrator.
Is there an easy way to configure Exchange to send a copy of the message to the Administrator without returning the NDR to the original sender of the message?

Can't be done. Exchange doesn't support not-sending NDR's, or catch-all accounts.

Answer 1 is correct - but

courtesy of winntmag Exchange server update in my inbox on Friday 24th Sept!!!!

You can create a new mailbox called Deleted Users (or something similar). When a user leaves the company, add that user's address to this mailbox (smtp email address) and remove the original mailbox at your convenience. NDRs will accumulate in this mailbox, but you can sweep through them when
you have time, just to make sure you're not missing any useful, but misdirected, email.I will beinstigating this 1st thing monday morning!!
