how do you configure a print server to a peer to peer network system?

Supposing you're talking about a Windows desktop system where the printers of desktop A need to be accessible to all others:
Simply activate the 'Sharing' tab on the installed (local) printer. That contains things like the sharename and the security which you might want.

If you're using an HP Jetdirect you use your software installation CD to access the printer across the peer-to-peer. It will see that connection and assign it a path on the network path line for the printer. If it is not an HP Jetdirect, the software that you got with the printer server should see the printer and handle the connection. Good Luck.
