      Conform your TCP/IP

The IP address must conform to the IP address of the copier/printer. Make your laptop 1 digit off for the last octet of your IP address but the all of the other octets the same. If the copier is 192.168.1.10 make your laptop 192.168.1.11. As well you must input the subnet mask, and the gateway will not make a difference in this case. You can manually change your IP address by going to your ‘local area connection’ in you ‘network connections’> then right click > choose properties > then scroll down to TCP/IP > then configure > then change ‘automatically obtain ip address’ to ‘specify address’. This is where you’ll put in the IP address and the subnet mask, don’t worry about any other settings. And be sure to set them back after your done testing. Good luck.
