Printing locally from NT Workstation

By jcolome ·
I have an NT workstation and I am using WP 5.0 for DOS. I can't seem to print locally to my printer from this application. It prints fine under NT but not from WP 5.0.

Is there a DOS command that I need to iniate?

Please note that I have beemtold to use the Net Use command but this won't help, since my printer is NOT on a network but installed locally.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

J. Colome

Hi!

Well this isn't really easy, but you should be able to use the printer from a dos prompt.

But if all else fails try this.
Share the printer from NT, call the share PRINTER, or whatever you want.

Now from your DOS prompt try this: NET USE LPT1: \\localhost\PRINTER

If this work there might have been some misconfiguration when installing your OS like saying no I don't want to print from dos programs.

I would reinstall the printer making sure to check the radio button that specifies that this printer will be used to print from DOS programs.
