Printing over wireless SUSE 9.3 network

    by k.somma ·

I’m currently running dual boots of SUSE 9.3 and Win XP on two lap tops and a primary (Desktop PC). I was able to configure SAMBA … this allows me to see all windows files and use the printer (connected to the main desktop).

I’ve not been able to access the printer or see files on the main desktop computer when it’s running under Linux. So, the two Laptops boot to SUSE, The main Machine boots to Linux, The wireless connection works just fine … but can’t seem to configure any of the available network options to allow file access and more importantly Print Access. Do you have any advice? What is the Linux equiv. of SAMBA

    Thanks so much

well if you installed the printer using cups, ( most probably ) did you allow access to cups from the network?

also, install remost printers in the laptops, suse linux, or any other flavour of linux, needs to be told that there is a cups based printer or it will assume there is no printer.
