problem connecting to the internet

We have a small network of 10 computers running xp pro and windows small business server 2003. For some unknown reason one of the workstation can no longer access the internet, everything else is working fine, all internet settings are the same as the other workstations and it is connected to the network. Just wondering if could be a fault with the machine (should I just reinstall everything) or could it have something to do with the firewall. I tried to swap this computer with another one but had the same problem with the new computer.We have juniper netscreen, and for some reason, it keeps telling me I've exceeded the number of users even when I know I've turned all the other workstations off. Any ideas anyone?

a port or ethernet cable, have you tried plugging another computer into that port and/or cable.

don't know anything about juniper but at least, I can bump you up.

thanks, I did think that was the problem and plugged the computer into another port, same problem. i think it maybe the juniper

Check the Juniper

I'm assuming that the PCs can see the internal network. If not then this is a cable or port problem.

However based on the last part of your post it sounds more like the problem is an external access issue. I would bet that the Juniper is keeping a list of all machines that have accessed the internet thru the device. There should be a way to clear that log or table on the device. Once that is done then you should be able to get out again. The other thing to check is to verify that you have teh correct number of access licenses for the Juniper. You may need to ad more if they can.

I'll give it a go, I really should post this as a seperate question, but another strange thing happened around the same time, for some reason , we can't access our company's website from any of the computers at work, but it is accessible everywhere else. it is hosted by someone else, but we've had no problems with it before.

Check you local DNS

Make sure that your local DNS server can see the web site. If it can't then you might want to add a static entry to your DNS server to point to the correct IP address.
