Hi,
I have a Dos system im my company, and until today it's work very well, but today, I have to reinstall the printer driver of a remote printer, and the system do not print more, I was see if the printer was captured with the net use command and it's ok, I tried to print a dir > lpt1 and didn't work, the job get into the spool and get out, like it every thing is all right, but didn't get out the print, in Windows NT it works all right, but in DOS no !!

Problem with DOS print in NT

If you find that the job is spooled and is sent to the printer after sending a print job eg. dir > lpt1:

Then its the printer that cannot print raw text. eg. a postscript printer. When you execute dir > lpt1: you are sending pure ASCII text to your printer. No printer driver gets used.

Hope this helps.

Ivan Gomes.
