problems after win98se clean install

By racer x ·
After reformatting hardrive I installed win98se upgrade. Everything is working well except that I can't reload some older win95 compatible software from the CD ROM. It tells me the executable is not a win32 app. In some cases the setup program isnot even visible to select and run. This problem seems to be the CD only, not the floppy.
What do I do?!

Are you saying that you used an upgrade version of 98? Also win95 was 16 bit and 98 is 32bit. You need to install UDF Reader for cd to run 95 version cd applications. You can update your cdrom at zdnet.com
Do a system scan at their site and then they will show updates you can install from there.

Yes, I used win98se upgrade for the install. Installing UDF Reader did not fix the problem.
