Problems while taking backup

by Stillatit In reply to Problems while taking bac ...

This is my standard list of things to check for scsi tape problems:
Are all cables plugged in securely?
Is there a terminator?
Is the tape the correct one for the drive (if the tape runs to the end and the drive cannot detect the condition it will look like a hardware error.)?
Does it work with a different tape?
Was the device code changed on the tape drive?
Are the scsi cables too long?
If this previously worked, what changed?

Good luck.
