running a QDI exp.II jumperless board. Current mouse is connected to uart1 I tried a ps/2 to serial adpt. touchpad wasnt recognized. I instaslled a ps/2 port to the motherboard (not functioning)though bios it is presant. Was told to change ps/2 header? Does this mean the schematics of the connection are incorrect? There are no conflicts with irq and it is not a driver problem .. Help i miss my touchpad 8-(

Are you sure that the PS2 to serial adapter is for the mouse you are using. I have purchased microsoft mice that had serial adapters that did not work on other microsoft mice. It would only work with the model I purchased. You may want to go out and buy a cheap serial mouse to test or verify the adapter came with the PS2 mouse you are using.

Yes, the PS/2 header on the MoBo is not standardised. Change it if it doesn’t work. I’ve seen three different headers for the PS/2 port. Or modify your existing one. Pinouts for the PS/2 connector (and even more connectors) are at:
      http://www.pinouts.da.ru
and for the header on your MoBo in it’s manual.
