ram problem

i installed 64 megs of ram into my computer and my cmos shows i have 128 meg which is correct but windows 98 se show i only have 64 installed. can anybody tell me why that is and how do i sove this problem

This usually happens when you have two incompatible types of RAM in your PC. There are quite a few different types available, many of which are incompatible. Your best bet is to take the new memory back and replace it with the type of ram already installed.
On the other hand, with memory prices so low at the moment, it might be better to replace the older chips with new ones and donate the old ones to your local school or something.

try checking your sys config utility
click start go to run & type MSCONFIG when it opens click on the advanced button.
where it says limit memory amount make sure it reads 128 if not change it.
