RASMAN SECURITY TAB ON CLIENT SYSTEMS

By markgarrison ·
IS THERE ANYWAY TO LOCK OUT THE SECURITY TAB ON RASMAN AT THE CLIENT END, TO ENSURE THAT THE PASSWORD CAN NOT BE CHANGED OR ALTERED?
I HAVE USERS THAT FREQUENTLY DELETE THIER PASSWORDS WHICH ARE RANDOMLY GENERATED, WHICH CAUSES THE PROBLEM OF REPEATEDLY HAVING TO RE-ENTER THIER PASSWORD. (I DON'T WANT TO GIVE THEM ACCESS TO THE RAS PASSWORD, BUT WOULD LIKE TO HARD CODE IT IN) ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED!!

THANKS SIGNED FRUSTERATION :)

RASMAN SECURITY TAB ON CLIENT SYSTEMS

Mark,

I would look into Policy Editor. I use it frequently to lock users out of certain menus on Win 95 machines. I know you can use it on NT as well. On Win 95 it is located on the installation CD. Run a search on your NT CD for "poledit". It should be in there somewhere. Actually, now that I think about it, since NT has a protected administrator account, it may already be installed on your machines and accessible only to the administrator. Check it out, I think this is just what youneed.
