Reading the header of a file

By rvs ·
How do I read the header of a jpeg file. I am attempting to use Kodak's DC215 digital camera in sales presentations, by loading the presentation (jpeg files) on the CF card. According to Kodak, there are several types of jpegs, and I need to export using the right one.

there are many types of jpg's.... with extensions like .jpe .jfif .jpeg .jpg

as far as reading the header? im not to sure on what you mean....make sure your jpg file is associated to a jpg format by going to menu in windows explorer. then go toview, options, file types.. scroll down and check file extensions associate with jpg.

At a guess, I would save a jpg taken on the camera, open it with Paint Shop Pro, for example, and look at the jpg settings. I would assume that you can only save with the max no of colours and resolution that the camera will handle.

cheers
