XP Firewall?

by RechTepublic In reply to REMOTE DESKTOP CONNECTION

Disable the XP firewall or any other firewall that may be running on the workstation. Norton Internet Security and other firewalls have a problem of "re-enabling" themselves after updates.

Pro or Home?

by johnp In reply to REMOTE DESKTOP CONNECTION

I know this is an old post, but people will still find it when searching, so I'm going to post a reply.

XP Pro can do RD connections as client or server. XP Home can only do RDC as client. The same case w/ Vista. Business, Enterprise, and Ultimate editions can host RD sessions.
Thanks to Deb Schinder for pointing that out to me.

NOTE: Please don't post in all caps. I get yelled at enough by end users, I don't need geeks yelling too.
