Default Exceptions

Go to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel
In Control Panel, open the Windows Firewall by double clicking on it. In the windows firewall dialog box, select the exceptions tab, then check remote assistance and remote desktop to enable them.
P.S. You can also select remote desktop in the same dialog box and click Edit, then select change Scope and observer that 'Any Computer, including those from the internet' is ticked to enable you connect from home. (This is not wise though, it would be better to select 'Custom List' and put the IP of your home connection. Hope this helps.
