Remote Manage Red Hat Enterprise across the Internet

By chris.lambert ·
Hi,

I am trying to set up a remote desktop to a Redhat Enterprise server at a clietns site.

At present we have remote desktop going to a Windows 2k machine without any problems, but cannot change this.

I had hoped to use something like LOGMEIN.com to access the RH server but Log Me In does not support this.

Does anyone know of a way that I can set up remote off site access to the RH Server without changing the current port forwarding to the Win2K box?

Chris

I've had a quick look at this and it looks like it could be part of the answer. But don't see a way to connect to it without changing the RDC Port Forwarding, and sadly thats the one thing I can't chage as it's used by other off site workers for a different server.

You can configure it to use a different port you can hack the reg to change the ports that RDP uses, VNC will not use the same port and will not mess with RDP, I have it configured on my servers, I have hacked the reg for RDP to connect on port 3301 and VNC on 5900 or 5901 check out the link below on hacking the reg key for RDP.

Hope this helps
