Remote PC Support

By rmessner ·
I am looking for a tool to help provide desktop support to clients who are in another location. I don't want PC Anywhere, but would like that type of program. Preferably something similar to what all.com uses. Any ideas? I wouldn't mind paying for a service to use that would enable me to do this.

Check out Callisto's Orbiter.

For simple pcAnywhere type remote control, you can use Microsoft NetMeeting, which is build in to Win98 and/or can be downloaded for free.

The particular tool you end up selecting will be heavily dependent on how many clients you are supporting at how many sites.

This is something that cannot be adequately answered in this format; but I would be glad to help you put the plan together (assess, design, implement, manage).

Contact me and we'll get it worked out quickly...

Virtual Network Computing (VNC) is a nice freeware program distrubuted by AT&T Laboratories. You can remotely control the computer just like you had physical access. VNC can be downloaded from http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/

I have used Intel LANDesk to good effect. It has auditing and inventory functions as well as the capability for remote control.
