removing wallpaper

accidently saved a graphic as wallpaper. Changed back to the original wall paper in control panel/display, but when windows is booting the mistaken wallpaper comes up but then is later replaced by the correct wallpaper. How do I eliminate the mistaken wallpaper?

This problem sounds screwy... but I think maybe what you are seeing when the computer boots is not wallpaper but background pattern, which is then replaced by wallpaper, if I am, in fact, interpreting your question correctly. Right click the desktopand click properties then click the background tab then select "none" in the pattern window on the left... what was it set to? Let me know if this was it. If not I will think of other possibilities.

go to your c:\windows or c:\winnt directory and find the file that is named internet explorer wallpaper.bmp or netscape wallpaper.bmp depending on the browser you have. check and see if one of these is your wallpaper and delete the file
