Replace Motherboard???

Hi Everybody,

Actually I want to replace old mtherboard with a new one for some reason.The new one is dublicate of old one.I have attached all cable in properly but system wont start.I mean...the system work fine with the old one.And there arent any special jumper setting to be configure.Thanks

Are you sure that the new MB is good?

Try resetting the CMOS memory, and check the CMOS backup battery.

Then, double check all connections and mounting hardware.
Make sure the video card and RAM modules are fully seated in their sockets.

Ihad a MB that gave me a lot of problems. Turned out to be a corroded pin in the AGP socket.
The only reasonable fix was to switch to a PCI video card!

Maybe you have a factory defective motherboard. If you have a multi-tester, you may test the power supply terminal if current flows. Visually, if current flows on the motherboard, fans will run and pilot light on the computer panel is lit.

Depending on the motherboard you have, there may be switches to configure processor speed and bus speed. Incorrect settings could prevent the system from booting.
