Resources for building your own consultancy

I am building a consultancy that has been somewhat dormant but
has a good resume/pedigree. We have been quiet in the local
marketplace as we have all been fulltime employees for many years
at various places (We each started as contractors but were
invariably recruited into or hired by the firms we worked at).
Any helpful hints or resources anyone here has personally used
that actually worked?
