Rick how about a break?

The cartoons are cute, but please, we don't need them on every post. :-)
They are nice in the Friday jokes or to share a point, but it is really getting old to see the darn things in every post.
Thanks in advance (I hope). :-)

But seriously it does make it hard to quickly skim (Esp view all) through questions and responses. During projects/work breaks I like to try and answer a question or learn something, but I really dislike having cartoons all over my screen. Once my CTO rushed to the screen thinking I was on a non-technical site (he relaxed when he discovered TR, but still).

Complications from Roadrunner fixation

by nepenthe0 In reply to LOL that one was cute. :- ...

For over 30 years I made daily rounds on hospital inpatients. As often as not, the TV was on as I entered the room.

Saturdays were the cartoon days. Normally the patient would immediately click off the TV, but I always made an exception for the Roadrunners - I grabbed a chair and watched until the end. There was no help for it.

Then the nurse would come in, and I would motion her to join us, so she gladly grabbed another chair, and we all enjoyed the show. The patient found this all perfectly natural.

Some fixations are lifelong, incurable, so one must simply accept it.

Can you imagine

What the posts would look like should we all illustrate our own fixations \shudder.
Again I ask, please stop the posting of these (most) pics. If we all did this the forum would be totally un-viewable.

There's a way to treat addictions, including mental problems ...

And you will find yourself doing Cold Turkey.

If you're not thrown off the TR site you will end up being shunned. Either way, you and your little cellulose pal will be on your own.

There is probably an internet site elsewhere more befitting of your contributions, since you are now spending more time procuring the best image for the situation rather than giving the correct technical answer to the OP question.

Not to mention ALL the unfortunates with dial-up connections, who now cannot even crawl through TR due to the time it takes for your infantile cartoons to display LINE BY LINE onto their monitors. The byte-count for each of your entries is a nightmare if you are on dial-up and expecting a text-only entry. Most dial-up users even turn off the animated avatars for God's sake.

After 30 years caring for and considering the needs of others, you have now turned your back on them, by inflicting an online pain that you're technically incapable of being aware of.

Perhaps it is the fault of TR because it was HERE that YOU learned something - how to embed your cartoons. Perhaps you now can learn how to consider dial-up users also.
