Possibly the Window server is too busy to response the request. You better check the CPU utilization of the server.

This is most likely caused by not having enough ephemeral ports available. By default, Windows maintains TCP/IP connections for up to 4 minutes.

Open up the registry editor and add the following key and value:

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\MaxUserPort=65000

See the article at http://www.microsoft.com/technet/community/columns/cableguy/cg1205.mspx for more details on ephemeral ports.

by vikaskumar In reply to RPC server not available

Verity correct DNS settings.

Troubleshooting "RPC Server is Unavailable" in Windows
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/224370

2. Verity correct Time and Time Zone settings.

3. Verity that "TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper" is running and set to auto start after restart.

4. Verity that "Remote Registry" is running and set to auto start after restart.

Its recommended to reboot the computer after changing the required settings.
