Running Proxy Server 2.0 on Win 2000 ??

By Bhrdwh ·
Hi,
Can I install & run Proxy Server 2.0(meant for NT Server 4.0 ) on a Windows 2000 Advanced Server ?
We'll go in for the ISA Standard Edition Server but not now (due to cost saving).

Running Proxy Server 2.0 on Win 2000 ??

Yes, you can, although I have experienced a few quirks on the system that I have that's running it. There is a Win2K fix for Proxy - it's called something like "Win2000 Proxy Server Install Wizard". MS recommends that, if you're upgrading from NT to 2000, that you uninstall Proxy and reinstall it after the upgrade using the wizard. It should be somewhere on the MS web site, but I couldn't find it today. If you can't find it, send me an email direct to synergy@synoffsys.com and I'll email the file back to you. Hope this helps!
