Is there a way, other than VBA code, to keep a running total of a cell in another cell?

The application is an inventory spreadsheet. It calculates the cost of an order. The user wants a running total of the cost of orders during the month. Clear, I hope??

There is a way. Go to the end of the cell that you want to calculate (Leaving room to add more numbers). Click on the SUM icon (looks like a Greek Letter). A formula will be entered in the cell. Hit enter and the total will appear.

Hope thishelps.

I'm not sure I understand your question, but, I hope this helps. Example: Column A, Rows 1 thru 4. A1=1, A2=1, A3=1, A4=1. Place your cursor in A5 and use the sum function icon to sum that column. A5 should equal 4. If you use cell E5 as the runningtotal cell, place your cursor in cell E5 and enter =A5. Thus, everytime the values in A1 thru A4 change, the sum in A5 will change, and E5 will automatically get updated.
