How do I set up my NT 4.0 server to automatically run a consistency check on a weekly basis??

I used to do that with a little trick
I got Internet Explorer 5 with the little task scheduler add on, and a shareware reboot program from CNet (www.cnet.com)

I created a batch file that simply ran
chkdsk /f < yes.txt
(to say I wanted to runon next reboot)
That was in the scheduler every saturday night to set the chkdsk flag. On sunday I put the little rebooter program in the task scheduler and voila - disk check every sunday night.

The hazard this carries of course is, that if theserver for some reason does not want to come back then you'd better be first in the office monday morning... ;-)

Good Luck

The above answer is great but why not just use what comes with NT to reboot the Server there is a command called Shutdown with some switches that you can set to find them type shutdown /? put this command into a batch file along with the command from above and schedule the batch file using an AT command and poof checkdisk on a regular basis with a shutdown. If you need help with the batch file write me at holmesfamily@email.com.
