SCSI and DOS don't get along

By GTek ·
I have looked for every trying to find a SCSI device driver for my SCSI Toshiba CD-ROM to hopefully re-install Windows and get on with my life. But I've looked almost EVERYWHERE and none seem to be working. I've even tried to use ATAPI/IDE genericCD-ROM drivers. Even if I did find one I don't think MSCDEX would be able to use the SCSI controller.

DOS drivers

by 1stladytech In reply to SCSI and DOS don't get al ...

What you need is the dos scsi drivers, usually supplied with your card. You need to load the correct aspi driver in the config.sys followed by the aspicd driver. If you go to the web site of the manufactor of you scsi card, you should be able to download the right drivers. For adaptec cards on a win9x system, the files are aspi8dos.sys and aspicd.sys. Hope this helps, if you need further instructions, email me.
