Could be a problem in the RPC layer. Can you use Event Viewer from one of the failing clients to get to the PDC or other offending system?

You don't mention the SP on all machines to make sure they match? Do the two clients have more than one NIC in them? Have you checked the TCP/IP settings on them?
I wish you gave more information. Sounds intriguing.
Good luck...........

SP3 is running. Single NIC. Removed/Reinstalled TCP/IP.

I have seen this situation once and it turned out to be an RPC error (diagnosed with rpcping.exe, one of the Resource Kit utilities). In this case, I could access the server for everything except Exchange Administrator, Outlook and the remote tools(WINS Mgr, Server Manager, etc.).

The fix was to un-install and re-install the TCP/IP stack on the offending machine.

I still don't know what caused the problem but the re-install of the stack fixed it.

What OS is on the two problem clients? Is there anything that differentiates them from other, *working* clients? I see from the last post you mention the problem is intermittent. Is this correct? If so, is there something specific that you do that corrects the problem even temporarily? Have you tried a warm boot when the problem occurs? And, if so, what is the outcome? And, as a final though (in the form of a question), are you logging into the domain you are administering, are you usingan account in the Administrator's group of that domain and are you receiving any logon errors or warnings?
