settings for all users

By srose ·
Is there a way to configure Windows XP and save those settings for all users? I would like to disable hibernate, prompt password when leaving standby, and other power management settings for all users that use a computer. Currently I have to log in as each user to disable these settings. I prefer not to purchase third party software to accomplish this task.

Don't know if this will work on XP, but we do this on 2000 machines.

Log in as "Guest".
Set up computer the way you like it.
Log off.
Log in as someone with Admin rights on the machine.
Copy the "Guest" user profile to the "Default user" profile.
Dlete any profiles already created and they will use the "Default User" profile when they log in for the first time.
