Settings for BCM FM 567 Motherboard

By alf2ooo ·
I've got a NEC Ready 9701 computer with a BCM FM 567 motherboard. I am upgrading from a 100Mhz to a 200Mhz with MMX. The sticker inside the case shows the Processor Speed jumper settings and I understand them. But, I don't know what to set the Jumpers to for Processor Voltage and Processor Core Voltage. Please.... Could someone help me??
Thanks,
Ben

With the 100MHz processor still in the board, boot up and copy down the bios string that shows up on the screen.

Then, go to either www.wimsbios.com
or www.motherboards.org
and identify the mfg of the motherboard.

Hopefully, they are still in business. You should be able to download a manual, or at least a jumper settings page.

One word of caution. Many of the older Pentium motherboards did not have the proper voltage settings for the MMX processors.
You will need to be able to set both a "core voltage" and an "I/O" voltage for the MMX processor to survive.

If the processor socket is labeled "socket 5" it definetly does not support the MMX processor.

It does have to be a socket 7 board to do this. If it is the core voltage should be 2.8v. You will also have to change a jumper that switches between P54c and P55c. P55c is the setting for an Intel 200mz w/MMX. If you can't change this setting, you can't use the faster cpu.
