    Shared Drive getting Access Denied

    Locked

    by thegiver ·

My shared drive was put on my dc02 and it was working great. Then one day it is giving everybody access denied. They cannot write or modify anything now. The ownership never changed and neither have the permissions. I have no clue what to do next. All of the users have logged off and restarted their machines and just for grins we did a gpupdate to make sure they all had the correct group policies.

Have you checked to see if the drive is actually working?

When you say “the DRIVE is shared”, do you mean “Mapped”?

If the drive that is being shared is on another computer then try and map it again from fresh, if the shared drive is connected to a router then switch off and then switch on again, this usually resets the connection.
By the way, do you have any back ups just in case the drive in question has gone?

Please post back if you have any more problems or questions.
