If you have Win98SE or ME or Win2000, you can use ICS. Internet Connection Sharing software that comes with your OS.

Here's a link to how to set it up:

Greetings,

You'll have to configure the computer WITH the modem as a proxy server. Then the computer without the modem can access that modem through the network and the proxy server function.

There are too many details to explain how to setup everything, but the documentation with one of the proxy server softwares should be pretty simple to follow.

Microsoft makes a good, simple proxy server software. As does "Avirt". In fact, Avirt will let you download from their Web site a demo version complete with installation instructions. www.avirt.com should get you there.

If you run into any stumbling blocks, post another question with the particulars on this thread. There are a lot of helpful people with a lot of knowledge around here.

Good luck,

Maxwell

If you don't want to use ICS you can install WinGate or WinRoute to the computer with the modem. You can get them from www.download.com. They are more flexible and have much more options.

The easiest way to do this is install a third part software on your computer with the modem. I'd suggest you to use WinRoute, it is very easy to configure and it is not expansive at all.
visit http://www.tinysoftware.com/ they will give you all theinformation you need.
You could also buy Winproxi or build a Proxi Server but they are a little more complicated.
If you need some more info please e-mail me back.
Good luck,

@lberto
