Sharing the ISDN in WIN 2000

By k4k ·
i have a 64Kbps ISDN dial up Line, i dial to my ISP from my Win 2000 Professional . i want all the other systems to use this Win 2000 system as gateway to which the ISDN line is connected.
i get a different IP address from my ISP each time i dial my ISP.

How do i make this Win 2000 system to act as a gateway to all other system & share the 64Kbps line ??

& how do i do the same in Win 2000 Server ??

On the Win 2k Pro machine
Right click your dial in connection - go to properties, go to the sharing tab, click the box that says Enable Internet Connection Sharing for this connection, make sure the enable demand dial connection is set.

On your clients - set their TCP/IP properties to obtain IP address from dhcp.

Thats it - your win 2k pro machine will act as a dhcp server for the other machines on the network.

Win 2k - can do exactly the same thing or you can get a little fancier anduse Network Address Translation - but that is only recommended in bigger networks.

Good luck
