XP
I know how to use taskkill but I can't seem to get it to run in the scheduler. I can't get anything to run in the scheduler for that matter. Taskkill works great from a command line.

Well, I was able to get TASKKILL to run successfully from a Scheduled Task.
I opened up Notepad, and then setup a Task with the following command line:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\taskkill.exe /F /IM notepad.exe

I then set it to go off at a certain time, and when that time hit, the Notepad window closed. Very nice, actually.

Now, when you set up the Task, and you get to the part where you have to enter in the username and password for the TAsk to run as, I would put in an Administrator-levelaccount, just in case.

But, give Taskkill a shot again. It "should" work.

hope this helps

I have a administrator level account and was trying to run it and nothing. Nothing will run in task scheduler at all. When I run it it says that the password is not valid so I took the password off of my account and tried that and it still didn't work. I tried it with the Administrator sign on and nothing still. So at this point I'm wondering what is wrong with the Task Scheduler.

Get a free copy of AutoIt (www.hiddensoft.com/autoit) it is a VERY powerful scripting language that can also be compiled. It can loop, sleep, check the time, start/stop programs, etc.

The question admits several interpretation.
If you developed the program yourself just use timer. If nessasary run a separate UI thread with timer and control the executing thread from(for an instance sending messages or directly)
If you need another program to control it also can be done the same way, but is needed to provide the ID of process or main Window of. It in turn can be done by many methods. I am currently developing an action program which among many other options will do such things also. To develop the program specially for such purposes takes about 30 minutes for me with all whistles. My interest is to find a person able to describe in details the interface would be convinied for the user and all variants how such program can be used and text of help file for.
