Slow printing

By NateH ·
Hi all,

This has been bugging me for a while and I have not been able to find a solution.

Running WinXP Pro with a HP Photosmart 7350 on a USB cable.

I send a 5 page text only document to the printer and it can take 3-5 minutes for it to start printing. Once the printing goes, it flies, but the spooling seems to take forever. And the wait is much longer if I have any graphics.

No errors, nothing indicating a problem because it does print, but it takes way too long.

I changed printer settings, spooled, not spooled, print directly to printer, etc. Nothing works..

Any suggestions/ideas?

thanks

Nate

are you using a pcl or post script driver - postscript drivers take longer but print quality is better - also check your spooler settings - and set it to print after the first page has spooled - also try printing with lower print quality settings.

Make sure you have enough diskspace. The Spooler can fill your disk up without you noticing. That can have a negative effect to you printing speed.
