SMS Site Question

By Joseph Mann ·
I have a server that is part of a site that is a domain controller. I want to move the server to it's own SMS 2.0 Secondary site. I am unable to perform the install as I get error message stating it belongs to an existing site.

How do I remove a domain controller and install SMS 2.0 as a new secondary site.

You cannot have an SMS server that is its own secondary site. A secondary site must be a child of a parent/primary site.

Hello jwmann,

I'm not clear on your question. What role is the BDC currently playing in the SMS setup? Is that server already a Secondary site server? If not,is there another server at that site that is?

Do you want to move the server to another location and have it act as a secondary site there?

Mike
