Software recommendation for detection of malware and/or spyware

By cgiefer ·
What are the recommended freeware or purchased software applications for detection, remediation, cleansing of malware or spyware software? I have 2 laptops, one running Windows XP Home and one running Windows Vista (I believe 32bit). I do not consider myself a PC guru. Thanks.

Malware Software

On your Vista machine you should have Windows Defender on it. I use it personally seems to work really well. It can be downloaded for your XP machine as well.

I would also suggest Adaware!

Business wise I use AdAware!
