Steve,

it is hard to identify the actual problem without some more feedback as to the nature of the system when it has problems, such as any error messages or the behavior when it is attempted. But just a guess, have you checked to make sure compatibility mode isn't running your cdrom.. remove the mscdex from autoexec.bat to allow windows to use a 32-bit protected mode driver instead of the real mode.. This has caused some install routines to time out..

I've come across this before. Some software requires the ability to write a log file back to the source. In this case it would not be able to write to the CD and therefore the installation would result in an error message like "can't write log" orsomething like that. If you have room on your PC try copying the installation program to the local drive and run it from there.

Good luck.

Do you have more than one partition or drive ?? Some software want to be in the d: drive. Sometime you can edit ini files to change this.

Hi Steve,

If you have at least a 486 66Mhz CPU, I would suggest that you upgrade to Windows 98SE from Windows Update, and get at least 64 MB Memory Ram.

Windows 95 is still full of bugs and Mircosoft does not support it anymore.

If you needmore information, please e-mail me and I will try my best to resolve you problems.

Good luck!

Hi, Steve,

You can try to clean the CD-ROM laser light with a CD-ROM cleaning kit. Also make sure the CD itself is clean and do not have any finger prints on it.
