Spam E-Mails

By ljackson.desoto ·
Does anybody have any suggestions for an anti-spam program that works well. The setting in Outlook and OE just can't keep up with the amount of spam we are receiving. Also, once you are a target is there anyway to try and minimize the amount without killing the e-mail address. Thank You.

Look them over and visit their websites for more information.

Spam Arrest
Website: www.spamarrest.com:

Form: Subscription

Method: All email destined to your mail spool is sent to Spam Arrest to determine if the sender is approved to send you mail. Non-approved sender?s mail will be blocked, approved will be passed on to your mail spool. Unknown addresses will be sent a form for acceptance by you. Accepted new senders will be added to approved list.

Cost: $19.95/6 month; $34.95/year.

Choice Mail
Website: www.digiportal.com

Method: User sets up list of approved sender addresses on computer program. Incoming mail from approved senders passes into In mailbox. Unknown sender?s letters are held and sender is sent a message explaining that address is not approved. A form is included for sender to reply asking Real Name, E-Mail Address, and Reason for message. A code number is included. Owner reads the form and compares the code (which must agree with original code (this is to prevent machine replies). Owner can approve (message and future messages are passed to In mailbox) or rejected (message and future messages from sender?s address will be deleted)

Cost: $39.95

SpamKiller
Website: www.mcafee.com/myapps/msk/

Source: McAfee

Method: Owner sets lists of approved e-mail addresses.

Cost: $39.95

SpamCop
Website: www.spamcop.net

Form: Subscription

Method: Subscribers may send to source information of objectionable SPAMmers. If the source determines that there is cause to block that address, it is placed on the lJulian Haightist which is then configured . The list is constantly being monitored. Accounts that are no longer SPAMming are eventually removed from the blocking list

Try spambayes http://spambayes.sourceforge.net/. Not only is it highly effective but it's also free.
