Spyboy.b False Alarm

By millerb ·
Finally got the answer as to what Spyboy.b is. Thought I'd share - here's the e-mail from Trend:

Dear Customer,

Greetings!

Thank you for contacting TrendLabsHQ.

We have a false alarm in the for TROJ_SPYBOY.B.

In line with this we modified our pattern to undetect the said file. Please
use the attached Control Patch to correct the detection. Attached also is
the initial virus report of TROJ_SPYBOY.B. Sorry for any Inconvenience that
this may have brought you.

Spyboy.b False Alarm

by maxwell edison In reply to Spyboy.b False Alarm

Greetings,

If you had "read into" my attempted humor while answering your question yesterday, you would have surmised that I suspected that it was not a true virus.

In the original message I asked, "But what makes you think it's a virus that neither Symantec nor McAfee knows anything about"?

You didn't like my answer, and, I might add, came off as a little "POed" because of it.

However, no hard feelings. Humor is a difficult thing to interject into these messages.

Regards,

Maxwell
