SQL SERVER?

On power up, start up, turn on, of the computer win xp pro. the sql server dialog box opens an displays the following; Your SQL Server is either corruptor has been tampered with(unknown package ID). please rerun setup. I click ok ank all appears to work OK. I also reinstalled win xp pro.
problem still exsists. What Can I Do next?

Did you format or just do a clean install in the same folder?

Try a complete format. Not quick or install into Windows directory.

Also uninstall SQL. Restart. Use the utility called JV16 PowerTools from www.downloads.com and do a Registry Cleaner on Aggressive. Then try and install the SQL server again.

You cannot install SQL Server Enterprise on Win XP Pro. You can use the Personal or Developer editions on XP Pro. You also need MDAC 2.8 installed.
