SQL Server Database limits

How many databases can be attached to an SQL Server? Is it dependent on machine memory etc?

SQL Server Database limits

For SQL Server 7.0, the maximum is 32,767 databases on a server. Memory should not be a consideration, though it certainly is important in terms of handling simultaneous connections and activity. Most servers will probably run out of disk space longbefore they have 32,767 non-trivial databases.

I hope this helps.
